A delegation of 6 members (from left to right Guyue Hu, Ines Butz, Giulio Lovatti, Nawal Alqethami, Beatrice Foglia and Katia Parodi) from our Chair presented their scientific work at this year's annual meeting of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine. Among the presentations of our LMU doctoral candidates, the following contributions received particular recognition:
- Giulio Lovatti was among the selected students competing in the John R. Cameron Early-Career Investigator Symposium with his presentation "First In Vivo Proton Beam Irradiation of Mice with Quasi-Real-Time Range Verification with the Sirmio PET Scanner".
- The poster presentations of Ines Butz and Tianxue Du (unable to attend in person) were selected for the Blue Ribbon Poster Award in recognition of outstanding scientific merit and excellence in presentation.
Ines Butz received the award for her presentation of the poster "Data-Driven Forward Projector for Optimization of the Proton Stopping Power Calibration in Treatment Planning Based on Sparse Proton Radiographies", while Tianxue Du was awarded for his poster on "Development and Clinical Validation of an Analytical Approach for 3D Positron Emitter Distribution Prediction in Carbon Ion Therapy".
